Updating StopSign Threat Scanner

 

By default, the StopSign Threat Scanner will automatically update whenever you begin a scan while connected to the internet. To ensure it is set to automatically update, follow these instructions:

1. Use the steps below for the appropriate version of Windows to open the StopSign Software Station.

Windows XP, Vista, or 7 users:

Click START > PROGRAMS > EACCELERATION > STOPSIGN SOFTWARE STATION.
(Close the tip of the day if it opens.)

OR

Windows 8/8.1/10 users:

At the Start screen type STOP (the search box will appear as you type.)
When the StopSign logos appear to your left click on "StopSign Software Station". (Close the tip of the day if it opens.)

2. On the Menu Bar, click TOOLS, then SETTINGS.

3. Under "Update Checks" put the dot in the circle labeled "Automatically check for updates".

4. Click OK.

To update StopSign without running a scan, follow these instructions:

1. Open the StopSign Software Station (step 1 above).

2. On the Menu Bar, click TOOLS, then CHECK UPDATES.

 

To confirm updates have been installed, follow these instructions:

1. Use the steps indicated below for the appropriate version of Windows to Start a StopSign Scan.

Windows XP, Vista, or 7 users:

Click START > PROGRAMS > EACCELERATION > STOP-SIGN > START SCAN.

OR

Windows 8/8.1/10 users:

At the Start screen type STOP (the search box will appear as you type.)
When the StopSign logos appear to your left click on "Start Scan".

2. While the Threat Scanner is running, click HELP on the menu bar, then click ABOUT. You will see information regarding the last time the scanner was updated.
