Windows Updates

To ensure your StopSign anti-virus is working optimally, it is important to install all Critical Microsoft Windows Updates.

Internet Explorer Users:

To update your Windows operating system, click the link below.

NOTE: This link will only work using Internet Explorer.

OR

To manually connect to Microsoft for updates, follow the steps below.

1) Open Internet Explorer.

2) Click TOOLS > WINDOWS UPDATE.

3) Click on the SCAN FOR UPDATES link and wait for the scan to finish.

4) Select the updates you would like and install them. We recommend installing all Critical Updates and all Windows Updates for your version of Windows.

5) Restart your computer.

6) Repeat steps 1 - 5 until there are no more updates for your computer.

Alternate Browser Users (Firefox, Safari, etc.)

Configure Windows Updates to run automatically through the Control Panel:

1. Click START > CONTROL PANEL

2. Depending on the Control Panel view (Classic or Category) choose one of the following:

Classic View: Click SYSTEM > AUTOMATIC UPDATES tab.

Category View: Click Performance and Maintenance > SYSTEM > AUTOMATIC UPDATES tab.

3. Click the update option desired. We recommend NOT selecting Turn off Automatic Updates.



PLEASE NOTE:

Support for Windows XP ends on April 8, 2014

No security updates or system patches will be available for Windows XP beyond April 8, 2014.

NOTE: If you experience difficulty installing Windows Updates or your computer does not function properly after a Windows Update installation, please contact Microsoft.
