Email Attachments -

What to do when you're not sure about an email attachment.

Is that attachment safe to open?

The StopSign Support Team recommends to all our users - DO NOT directly open email attachments. Always scan the attachment before opening, even if you believe you know what the attachment is, even if you trust the sender.
To allow
StopSign to scan any attachments, please follow the steps outlined below:

Outlook/Outlook Express & WebMail Users

1. LEFT CLICK the file or files to highlight (hold down the CTRL key to click and select more than one file).

2.
RIGHT CLICK the selected file(s) choose "SAVE AS" from the pop up menu. (Remember where you have saved the file, we recommend the desktop for easy access. You can always move or delete the file later as needed.)

4. Locate the newly saved file(s)

5.
RIGHT CLICK the file(s) and from the pop-up context menu select "Scan For Viruses". This will scan only the selected file(s), not the entire computer.

NOTE: Outlook/Outlook Express users may wish to use the StopSign Firewall Spam Filter.
