Internal Popup Ads

If you have enabled the StopSign Popup Blocker in the aggressive mode and are still experiencing popup ads, you may have a program installed which is generating popups from your system - and not the internet.

Several programs you can download from the internet (AIM, WeatherBug, Kazaa and others) generate advertisements from your hard drive when they are in a "free" or "trial" mode. When you subscribe to these programs, these advertisement "popups" stop.

Popup Blockers only stop popups that are generated by a source external to your computer (those generated by websites). Other than subscribing to the program generating the adware from your computer, the only other way to stop these popup ads is to uninstall the program.

To determine if you have pop-up ad software, go to your Control Panel.
